Fishing nets are an indispensable tool in fishery production. Reasonable use and proper collection of fishing nets can prolong their service life and reduce production costs. However, many fish farming units and farmers ignore this problem and do not give full play to the value of fishing nets.

At present, the main raw materials for making fishing nets are chemical fibers and plant fibers, which are woven with chemical materials such as nylon filaments, vinylon filaments, and nylon threads. It has the advantages of fastness, smoothness, water repellency and moisture resistance, but it is not resistant to strong light and high temperature baking. However, fishing nets made of plant fiber materials such as cotton and linen are not afraid of high temperature exposure, but have the disadvantage of moisture absorption and perishability.

According to the above differences, the physical and chemical properties of raw materials for the preparation of fishing nets are discussed. Corresponding correct protection and collection methods should be adopted:

1. When using any fishing net, try to avoid artificial abrasion, trampling and stabbing, and pay attention to protection when pulling the net;

2. After the fishing net is used, the sludge attached to the net should be fully cleaned, and the small fish, shrimps and other sundries hanging in the net should be cleaned. Then hang it in the shade or under the tree to dry, try to avoid exposure to the sun, freezing and rain;

3. The warehouse where the mosquito nets are stored should keep air circulation, dry, fresh, free from sunlight and rodents.

4. During the storage of fishing nets, someone should take care of them and check them frequently. When the weather is fine and the air is dry, the doors and windows of the warehouse should be opened to allow the air to circulate. In rainy days or when the temperature is high, the doors and windows of the warehouse should be closed, and special attention should be paid to the tanning of cotton and linen fishing nets to avoid damp and mildew;

5. Fishing nets should not be mixed with volatile or corrosive substances such as chemical fertilizers and diesel oil. At the same time, pest control and rodent control should be carried out regularly.
