How Fishnet Trawling Works

The fishing method and steps of fishing net trawling are as follows:

①A fisherman will sink a rectangular net into the sea. A buoy is tied to one side of the net to keep that side afloat;

②Both sides of the net are towed by two ships respectively, and the fishing net trawl sinks vertically into the seabed

③The boats on both sides will drag the fishing nets forward, forming an arc-shaped net, like a bag, trapping all the oncoming things;

④ After walking for a while, the boats on both sides will head towards the shore. Fishermen haul their nets ashore and collect the seafood in the nets.

The working principle of fishing net trawling: Fishing net trawling is to use the movement of the ship to drag the fishing gear to the seabed or sea water, forcing the fishing gear to enter the net bag through the fish, shrimp, crab and other fishing objects in the water to achieve the purpose of fishing. When the fishing boat trawls forward, the net plate will generate expansion force under the action of water flow, which can make the net gear open horizontally. During operation, the fishing boat moves forward slowly, releases the net gear from the tail slide, connects the net plate to the trawl net, and makes it break away from the two net racks, then the fishing boat moves forward quickly, and gradually releases the two trawl nets. After the trawling net is released to a predetermined length, the fishing boat moves forward according to the predetermined trawling net and trawling net, and the trawling net release length is generally 3 to 5 times the water depth. The gradual speed of fishing net trawling is generally 3 to 5 nautical miles per hour, and the net is lifted every 3 hours or so. When lifting the net, the fishing boat moves forward slowly, draws the twisted net one by one, and fixes the net plate on the net frame to keep it out of the trawl net. Continue to reel in the winch, drag the self-tail chute onto the deck, and take out the catch.
